Newt is expecting to do well in Florida as well. I guess we'll see if this debate has any effect on the election results.

How many debates do we need? We know their positions.

Now it is just comic relief. Give me "Law and Order" reruns.

Newt earned his SC win at the two debates last week.

Yes... his strong performance in those debates certainly help put him over the top. I'm sure he wants to repeat this in Florida as well.

Florida is full of retirees. Old people are in bed by 8. Something's fishy about this.

Not for his positions. It was for his ability to put on a show. Although I guess that is as good a reason as any to vote for someone.

People like Newt to some degree because they believe he can kick Obama's ass in future debates for the Presidential nomination. I guess you can call it 'a show', but he demonstrated to people that he is a force to be reckoned with.

How well do you think Obama would do in debate against Newt on the national stage? Do you see where I am going with this?

I don't see him doing very well against Barry. The nasty, scowling, bombastic Newt won't play as well in the general.

1) Newt has some really great accomplishments in his past..

2) He's got the potential for greatness still.

3) The strength of his character and his ego tell people he won't be run over.. So, for good or bad, he will be his own man.. Beholden to no one.

On the downside: He also has taken on a lot of baggage since he was great, and accomplished so much.. There's a bit of a question which Newt we're dealing with here..

The newt of old.. Or the new Newt who couldn't find his own asscrack with a map and both hands.

I believe Newt would take him apart on the national stage in a debate. So do many who have watched Newt in these previous Republican debates. Obama will not fare well when his record as President is put on display for all to see. Newt would tear him a new one.
