3) The strength of his character and his ego tell people he won't be run over.. So, for good or bad, he will be his own man.. Beholden to no one.
Gotta love that.

I'm making a calculation based on that.. Because if I were just going by stated positions, beats him by a mile.

Newt hasn't changed. It just doesn't matter that much.

Newt is the face of the hate Obama voters. That will get him votes. Use whatever works.

He's got the potential to be a lot more than that.. He brought the GOP back after half a century of being locked out in the cold..

He's done a lot.. He could be a great man..

It's a question if he has the wisdom and if he'll step up... Or if he CAN step up..

Newt Gingrich is a large part of the reason Clinton has any positive record to speak of.
The welfare reform and balanced budget were Gingrich efforts as Speaker.
Left to his own devices, Clinton was a sordid mess.

Gingrich is an old Establishment Republican, CFR and such, so keep that in mind when considering his record, words, and actions.

I believe Newt would take him apart on the national stage in a debate. So do many who have watched Newt in these previous Republican debates. Obama will not fare well when his record as President is put on display for all to see. Newt would tear him a new one.
Maybe I should put it a bit differently. I don't see his style convincing many independent voters. Those are the ones the candidates need to convince.

Although I still don't see Newt getting too far against Barry in a debate. Barry doesn't get that riled up.

Do you think those so-called 'Independent Voters' approve of Obama's economic depression policies?

No. He can't be a great man. He lacks character. Although in a politician that isn't always a negative.

I kinda like Newt. Not that I would ever vote for him.

Newt sees himself as too big for these things many consider to be foundational issues of character..

He's supremely arrogant.

More along the lines of Nero than Reagan..

'Character': Something a married President has while shoving a cigar 'into' a young chubby female intern. 'Character'

I'm not defending Barry. This isn't about Barry. This is about those in tonight's debate. The Pubs candidates.
