Default The Case Against Romney
http://mittromney.com/sites/default/...rowth-Full.pdf

calls for capping spending at 20% of GDP. As you can see from the chart below, very rarely have we ever had tax revenues that high. And, on top of that he wants to cut taxes, which I agree with, but that won't get you to a balanced budget at 20% of GDP. There's just no way.

says he will cut nondefense discretionary spending by 5%.

Nondefense discretionary spending makes up only a miniscule amount of the budget in the first place. It ignores SS, Medicare, Defense, and interest on the debt. Which is pretty much where ALL of the spending lies.

Now, discretionary spending makes up 34% of all spending.

Non-defense spending makes up 42% of all discretionary spending.

Mitt 's big idea is to cut 5% out of 42% out of 34% of the budget.

http://www.cbo.gov/ftpdocs/120xx/doc...011outlook.pdf

So, the CBO projects 2013 spending at $3.8 trillion.

34% of $3.8 trillion = $1.3 trillion in discretionary spending

42% of $1.3 trillion = $542 billion of nondefense discretionary spending

5% of $542 billion = $27 billion in budget cuts under 's plan

The CBO projects a $704 billion deficit in 2013 (that's very low, and assumes the GWB tax cuts would expire)

's plan would cut that down to $677 billion

I am not going to count for you, but how many dems voted for and how many reps voted for? show the senate and house votes by party.

Incorrect. There are 51 Democrats, and 2 independents who caucus with them, in the Senate. 48 Democrats and 1 independent voted for the NDAA. That's a total of 49. If every Republican had voted nay, it would not have passed.

And signed into law by a democrat president. I saw the list on the US Senate site that there were 13 dissenters. 6 D, 6 R and 1 I. One R no vote. I will go get the url.

Furthermore, in the House, the Republicans voted 190 for, and 43 against.

Democrats voted 93 for, and 93 against.

The GOP owns the NDAA.
