How can I vote for a candidate that wants to wipe his ass with the 2nd and 4th amendments? How does that send the right message?

I mean, if you want to get right down to it, I'd rather have to have gov't health insurance than lose my guns and not be able to control my own sex life and family planning.

Before anybody goes into a tizzy, I'm simply highlighting the hypocrisy of the GOP mainstream.

Santorum is just getting his 15 minutes as a frontrunner. The vetting has begun. McCain is mouthing off with his endorsement of so that wins NH. The GOP machine candidate will not be denied his turn.
Santorum is a nut-job. 15 min. is about all he's going to get.
Trying to tell people what they can do in the bedroom just ain't gonna cut it.

Correct. And if you believe the government can ban contraceptives, or ban sexual acts between consenting adults, then you also have to believe that the government can create a mandatory health insurance program or take your guns or tax your income and send it to someone else.

Either the government has this level of power, or it doesn't.
It doesn't, but that hasn't stopped them.

Since the government tends to lean towards left of center it's going to be the guns before the social issues.

The government will do to us whatever it chooses as long as we let them.

Rick Santorum, topped with NRA cap, shoots for conservative vote in Iowa
12/26/2011

ADEL, Iowa - Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum sought to underscore his conservative credentials today with a shotgun-toting pheasant hunt alongside a conservative congressman whose endorsement could sway votes in next week’s Iowa caucuses.

Dressed in blaze orange with a baseball cap stitched with the letters “NRA,” Santorum told reporters after bagging at least four birds: “I make the argument that there’s nobody who’s done more for the Second Amendment and been stronger on that issue than I have.”

Source: Boston Globe

Now I'm confused.
Is he for or against the 2nd Amendment?
Did he change from a previous stance?
Or is he blowing smoke?

Not so. That's more of a British thing.

No one fights their government, you know that.

What have you personally done about NDAA FY2012? What has anyone on this forum done about it?

Zilch. Zip. Nada.
