I would have to agree with this assessment. Newt is a bit of a megalomaniac. He's better than the current turd though.

The truth is that we are probably never going to have limited government unless the system crashes or we revolt and start over.

So, if we're going to live under a King, it might as well be a competent, benevolent one...

is not a Conservative.. He's got a good plan. Normally I'd back the guy to the hilt with no worries.. But he's a liar.

He'll say these things in the primary, then morph into something different for the general.

He won't fight for us, and people know that. That is why he can't pull down more than about 1/4 support.

Cain may not be a conservative either. We don't know. He spews populist rhetoric.

Newt has a track record, including a government shutdown over the budget.

At least he was a Conservative..

Newt is as conservative as Reagan. Which isn't very conservative (heresy!).

But it's probably good enough...

is tanking because of the failures of the Bush Family.. GHWB and his fucktard son.

They failed horribly, and took Northeast, establishment Republicanism and Neo-Conservatism down the tubes with them.. Anything that even LOOKS like it comes from that camp is immediately suspect.

The biggest mistake the GOP ever made was not tossing those two dumbfucks under the proverbial bus when they had the chance.

HAHAHHAHA... NO!

Not at all..

That evil family has done more damage to the Republican brand than anyone else in my lifetime.

Big Government, glad handing, militant Republicanism is something I have no use for... Few others do either, or Mitt would have this sewn up.

He even managed to fuck tax cuts up.... I used to support tax cuts for ANYBODY. I didn't care WHO got the money, as long as they were CUT and government got STARVED.

But, then he just kept spending.. and government kept on growing..

It's like: What's the fucking point? Now he's just re-distributing money from future generations.. I thought we were against that?

It's like: Robbing money from the rich = BAD.

Robbing money from fetuses = GOOD.

Why don't you just cut the fucking government and stop robbing people, period?

Yeah, I have an axe to grind with W because I voted for the "conservative" asshole.
Then one day I stepped back and actually looked at what he was doing and realized I'd fucked up by allowing myself to be duped.
That won't happen again. Next time I'm left with 2 shitty choices, I'll just write in Scorpio.

9/11 was completely mishandled.. We arguably lost that one to Osama.

We invaded a county on false pretenses.

Destroyed our own 4th amendment rights.

Created a gigantic army of federal cock grabbers.

Expanded the same extra-constitutional, arbitrary, executive authority that Obongo is now using to run naked through the economy.

We created new entitlements.

on and on and on..

If this is "Conservatism" then I don't want any part of it.

Perry was SUPPOSED to hate this stuff.. There was such hope pinned on that guy.

The nomination was his for the taking... And then, he blew it.

Newt is.. questionable.

Nobody really knows what he's going to do.. He's got some great ideas, and he's got a history.

But there's traces of "Big Government" about him also..

Yep. Newt has the intellect and the skills to do a fine job, particularly with the economy. It's what's really going on in his mind, his personal ambitions, that concerns me. Does he want to be president because the country needs quality leadership, or does he want to be president for Newt? His neoconish foreign policy outlook is also a sticking point with me. He'll be one of the first in line to attack Iran.

Yeah.. The foreign policy thing is a sticking point with me also.

Probably less so than with Bachman and Santorum, however.

Perry wrote that he was sick of foreign adventurism.. and I cheered.

Then, he walked it all the way back in the debates.
