Now who could that under 30% be?
People with money they felt was at risk.. Pensions, etc.

They'd rather socialize their losses, and make the rest of us pay for their stupidity, than admit that they fucked up and no one (especially the terminally stupid) has a right to a return on their investment.

Some observations...

1) It is a mistake to imagine that these unwashed, communist youth will vanish when the protest is over. They will remember this event for the rest of their lives. They will vote. Teach. Be elected to government, etc..

2) The fact that it has gone on as long as it has is reason for concern.

3) This is as much a failure of Conservatism as anything. Republicans have failed to take the bull by the horns and fix our education system.. This has gone on for so long, we now have generation upon generation we are attempting to re-educate before they enter the voting booth.. By permitting this to continue, we are attempting to re-train the youth in a few short years, and undo all the brain washing they have endured from the moment they entered the educational system, till the moment they leave it as adults. This has been left to fester so long that Rasmussen had a poll recently showing that, among the youth, a third thought capitalism was the best system, a third socialism.. and a third weren't sure. This bodes terribly for our future, and it must be corrected.

4) And this is important.. The unfolding failure is primarily political.. The protesters don't know hat they want, they just know they are angry. They have no workable plan to resolve their grievances... Frankly, I doubt many of them can even tell you why they are so pissed at Wall Street if you asked them.. But I can.

I believe strongly that this discontent stems from the TARP bailouts.. And it's not so much the bailouts themselves, as the bi-partisan stampede to assist the banks while the rest of the economy burns to the ground. In that moment it became obvious who our government serves and who it works hardest for. There was no partisan bickering. There was just an immediate surge of support for Wall Street.. to give them whatever they needed, and to do it right now. And that is why they're so angry at the Street itself. And I can't honestly say that I entirely blame them for feeling that way. It's exactly how I felt watching bailout mania take place.
Just remember, you can fit ten times as many kids into the average arena for a rock concert. Probably half of these kids know it's a total goof off session. Probably a much smaller fraction think they're actually accomplishing anything.
I have greater trust in kids (don't ask me why. Maybe because I have my own) to grow up eventually. My kids are totally non-political and they think I'm a douche for arguing politics on-line. But they're already center-right all on their own.

In other words, they have the exact same motivations as the Tea Party, but they are not smart enough to know why.

That's pretty much how I see it.

They're improperly educated and, apparently, not real bright anyway.. So they're just MAD BRO!

Screaming at the sky.

Quite similar to the way Lenin's followers unknowingly fought to enslave themselves.. That's what I see these clowns doing.

Life is hard.. But it's harder when you're stupid.

So you are in aggreement with the protestors ...right ?
The protesters are in absolute agreement with the Tea Party, they are just Johnny-come-lately's. Turns out the Tea Party was right after all. Hilarious.

Well, just the race to save them.. at any cost, and right fucking now.

Meanwhile, they behave as though the rest of the country can just go piss up a rope.. I mean lookit, we're seriously discussing how we MIGHT get some real help by january of 20fucking13?

I think the feeling is: Where's DC when we need them?
yet, when you trust a government that, in my op is as corrupt as any, to handle simple things like balancing a budget, the joke is on US. they were voted in by majority. set aside the fucking prez, who was voted in by electoral votes (with the blessing of the majority).

i wouldn't think it any other way. it is ROUTINE for those in the highest power to abuse it and use it, and fuck the people. it's been that way for a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG while now.

These protesters are clearly Independents.
Trying to pass them off as Liberals or Conservatives is the biggest, smelliest crock of shit in the world.

Kids are leftist.. They shift right as they grow older and actually have responsibility thrust upon them.

But they aren't angry for the right reason.. They don't have a plan to address their grievances.

It's just commie gobbledy-gook.
It's anger, and it's genuine. The "kids" are fucked.

They are certainly independent of any coherent thoughts.
