One thing that I noticed was my two older kids (19 and 20) had their immunizations spaced out over 5 years and my 5 yo received hers in 3 years. That may be part of the problem. That's one of the claims. The immunization schedule is fast and furious during the first two years, when the brain is still developing. Also, they have done combination vaccines, like MMR. Those used to be three separate shots. Does combining those viruses create a problem? I don't know... |

I didn't realize it when my youngest was receiving them. |

I doubt that would have anything to do with it. Our immune system is beautiful and processes a myriad of invaders everyday (which is part of the whole process of immunizations, where the antigen is put into the memory cells). ![]() |

Congratulations on you new blessing.
Prepare yourself for a bunch of sleepless nights, but the rewards are so wonderful! Have you selected a pediatrician yet? Talk about your concerns with him/her. Mine was very understanding and accommodating with the spacing and potency of the vaccines. He would give them a tiny dose of the Pertussis vaccine to see if there was a reaction (DPT). My kids all turned out fine. |

And the first nurse we had is telling us all about the vaccines available today for our child and ourselves, so on and so forth, and then she mentions that her grandson is autistic. A little buzzer went off in my head. Then, later, the night nurse is talking to us, and mentions that her son is autistic. That damn buzzer goes off again... |

No, the definition has become broader. The supposed correlation between vaccines and autism is the work of conspiracy theorists and has long since been debunked. If so, I have to agree. A link between vaccines and autism? That's different for sure. There are both sides argued. And I'm no expert on it, for sure. http://www.myfoxdc.com/dpp/health/ne...-autism-051011 “We asked the next question and that question was: Do some of these people also have autism? We found that in 83 of the cases we were able to locate, the families report that their children have autism and symptoms of autism,” said Conte. http://www.cdc.gov/vaccinesafety/index.html http://www.ama-assn.org/ama/pub/phys...tween-mmr.page Those who claim that MMR causes autism often cite two papers by Andrew Wakefield and colleagues. This section summarizes those studies and lists their critical flaws. Some say "YES!!!"...some say "NO!!" ???? |
