Default Question for older folks...
What was it like to live in jimmy carter's america?
when the soviet union was at the height of its power and people didnt know a former actor would become the liberator of eastern europe
where you in college when that happened, if so did you fear a nuclear war?

Thoughtful replies only please, i was 4 when reagan got elected so i dont know much about that era.

It was a joke.. It took years of intensive rehabilitation (Building houses for niggers) just to upgrade Carter from a traitor within the gates to merely a hapless idiot.

He pranced around in a fucking sweater, yelling about people's home thermostat settings (

Carter was a fucking fag.. When he dies, we're going to have to shoot his body into outer space, lest the earth itself vomit him up.

It was much easier to influence people then too. Much, much easier..

Americans had, for all practical intents and purposes, a handful (and I mean that.. like 5) TV channels, whatever papers were available and the encyclopedia Britannica to consult with regard to Geo-political affairs.

It was much easier to sell an idea like "They hate us for our freedom" and, it was easier to sell biased news and studies as established fact.

Although it predated him, Clinton was the first President to feel the heat from the internet. W caught it right in the face, and it's liable to wash Obama away.

No. The Republican president who caused the Great Depression.
31st President of the United States.

They don't like to mention that but yes... the Great Depression happened under a Republican.
And the same fuckin' thing will happen again if Rick Perry beats Obama.

Ya, srsly..

And Billy had a sideshow quality that made you giggle.

So, he was more popular than Jimmy.

No, but he's perpetuating it.. Much as Carter did.

He's completely disinterested in growth oriented policy making.
