Why do they think that government spending creates economic growth?
They're screaming about spending cuts "taking money out of the economy" But government doesn't HAVE any money, people do.. So, in order to spend money, the government has to print it (And thereby debase it) or take it from someone. They seem to believe that just taking money from people on top and handing it to people on the bottom = a self sustaining loop.. But there's no proof that this works. We've spent a trillion bucks, nothing happened, and all they have to say is we shoudl have spent more. |

I HEAR DINGBATS CALLING FOR A NEW WPA.... AS IF THAT WOULD CREATE WEALTH. That's exactly what they want to do.. It never works, because they believe in Keynes, and not Bastiat. If they can't get it from the top, they just print it.. |

They have destroyed main street USA.. and they're shocked when an economy that turns on over two thirds consumption, can't consume anything.. Because they're broke! Jobless.. Homeless. Scared.
STILL, the wizards of smart carry on.. If only we tax their fucking energy use! That will create jobs! Everyone can build windmills! We know! We're economists! |

"We can't drive our SUVs and eat as much as we want and keep our homes on 72 degrees at all times...and then just expect that other countries are going to say OK. That's not leadership. That's not going to happen." None of which has anything to do with the national debt but does show his willingness to take orders from foreign govts

The Atlantic has some really shit, liberal authors.. But I still check them because, every now and then, they turn out a real gem..
One of those was a guy who was formerly with the IMF, comparing the US with third world countries that get into trouble. He talked about the political class and their go-to people.. Their cronies. Eventually, they get so close to them that they become paralyzed. They can't move.. They can't make decisions that don't enrich this class, because they have become dependent upon them for contributions and everything else. |

Because they have no ideas of their own their only interest was being a fat cat It's so simple, but the principals never have a clue. They're too close to it. It's too personal. There's too much history and too much peer group pressure to jump in and do what needs to be done.. So, they languish. |
