Guess who ordered nude body scanners "Legislation has been proposed to mandate full-body scanners and make them the primary screening method in all U.S. airports by 2013, but Congress has yet to act on it," John Whitehead, president of the Rutherford Institute, wrote in a new commentary. "So we can thank President Obama for this frontal assault on our Fourth Amendment rights. Mind you, this is the same man who insisted that 'we will not succumb to a siege mentality that sacrifices the open society and liberties and values that we cherish as Americans,'" Whitehead said. "Yet in the wake of the bumbling underwear bomber's botched Christmas Day attempt to blow up a Detroit-bound plane, Obama directed the Homeland Security Department 'to acquire $1 billion in advanced-technology equipment, including body scanners, for screening passengers,'" he continued. |

This is a sticky issue here, I certainly don't think anyone has the right to grope you for any reason, but on the other hand using the Full Body scanner does allow for a higher level of security. I am not a criminal, and I am sick to death, of being punished like I am one. Just because some moron wears explosive panties, and burns himself, others are subjected to this shit. |

That is a strong argument, a viewpoint now being held by a large number of Americans. The problem is that Muslim extremists are going to continue attempting to attack our airlines, because their goal is to destroy the Western economy. The way we could salve that problem is to stop supporting Israel. Who benefits from this, really? Because, from where I sit, we are going to get porno-scanner before we get secure borders, and I have to wonder more about the extremest who rode in on Juan Valdez, through Mexico. |

If a lame underwear bomb is the best that they can do, is it really worth the money, and humiliation? In truth, these efforts have been so lame; I have to wonder if it is a new form of propaganda, and fear mongering from the people in charge, who love to say, "I told you so," while they insist on spending our money, and taking away our freedoms for it. The underwear bomber's father went to the CIA days before his son pulled his stunt, and told them that his son was up to no good. HIS FATHER, and the CIA didn't do anything about it. If someone anonymously calls the authorities and says that you are a terrorist and are planning to fly to Detroit, they will take it seriously, but his father did it and they "ignored" it. This was a set up. The US authorities wanted an excuse to increase their unconstitutional authority. They got what they wanted. |

The problem is that Muslim extremists are going to continue attempting to attack our airlines, because their goal is to destroy the Western economy. The big secret: We can't afford, and do not really want, perfect security. "Perfect" security would bring this country to a halt. People need to accept the reality of this.. |

Airlines are private businesses (although heavily subsidized by taxpayers). What happened to all you capitalists?? If you want an airline that lets you on board without a scan, then buy one yourself.
As far as I'm concerned, they can shove a telescope up my ass if that will insure some raging raghead doesn't blow me and my family to pieces. |

Why doesn't that surprise me? I'm serious though. I would pay MORE to avoid this. Naturally, there's a limit to what I can afford to pay. I can't buy my own 757. But I would certainly pay to avoid this kind of nonsense. I'm just not concerned about it and, statistically speaking, I'd be willing to bet I'm in more danger driving to work than I am bumping into a terrorist who slipped through the normal security procedures onto an airplane. |

A lot of folks don't know this, but it wasn't THAT long ago that people weren't searched and could even carry guns onto an airplane.
I'd LOVE to see a bunch of morons with box cutters take on a cabin full of armed air travelers. I remember getting on an Airbus 310 without my nail clippers. I was out of the country on 9/11 and was told I couldn't take them back with me. Do you have any idea how absurd it is to look across hundreds of people and even contemplate standing up, waving a pair of nail clippers around and telling them all "Shut up and sit down! We're going to fucking Cuba!" |
