What I was getting at was, if AT&T tries to screw us with such stupid rules, we can just do business with another company.
I agree as a general rule, vote with your pocket book, but since AT&T and a few others venture into regulated monopolies as utilities, it's not always possible.

Ideally, but it's not how the real world works. In the real world, those with oppress, degrade, and boss around those without. Nothing short of tazing their asses and shaking their babies is going to make them stop. Simply not doing buisness with them will not stop other people who are just as ignorant as you are from doing buisness with them.

This is why capitalism is wrong. It allows sociopaths and tyrants to succeed. It has nothing to do with hardwork, innovation, or meeting desires.

Yes, but some of us want to choose what tyrants and sociopaths we do business with.

REGULATION TENDS TO FAVOR LARGE BUSINESS ENTITIES.

GOVERMENT LOVES MONOPOLIES AND WHOLE SECTORS BEING DOMINATED BY 3 OR FEWER COMPANIES.

Or what about Health Insurance?

I mean they game this thing BIG TIME. You can't sell across state lines, so in some areas you effectively have a couple of companies to choose from.. by law.. and that's it.

What can they write into their contract?

I am normally in favor of such measures.. Because of you don't like it, you vote with your wallet.. But what if you literally CAN'T do that because they won't LET YOU?
It is not just state lines. If you look at the Federal employees plans (those touted as being so great) you will notice that the availability of coverage you can get depends on where you live. As an example if you live and work for a Federal Agency you have a lot more plans available than if you work in Ajo, Arizona. Some of the available plans even change based on the zip codes in a state, which means that if you live in one area of Los Angeles you may have different plans available that another government employee that although works in Los Angeles is in a different zipcode.

That is because they can write bigger checks to the Representatives and Senators.

How many hard-working socialists do you know of?

Stalin, Mao, Lenin, Trotsky, Karl Marx not so much... but he inherited his fortune and saw how much it sucked for people who didn't.

As well, my pal Gary runs the american communist league with me, and he's very hardworking. The thing about communism is it's not about who CAN work the hardest, but rather WHY should we have to work so hard? Why can't we just work to fulfill ourselves, to preserve the species, and to keep life easier in the long run?

I should work as a mechanic to repair people's mechanical units, not to somehow prove I'm the better mechanic and screw other mechanics out of work while putting more preassure on myself.

Those guys were commies, not socialists, and they never worked a day in their miserable, useless lives, probably like you.

As well, my pal Gary runs the american communist league with me,

Huh? You mean THE American Communist League?? Wow, you're really connected, aren't you, Fidel?

and he's very hardworking.

Compared to what, you? LOL!!!!

The thing about communism is it's not about who CAN work the hardest, but rather WHY should we have to work so hard? Why can't we just work to fulfill ourselves, to preserve the species, and to keep life easier in the long run?

Or live off the ones who do work hard?

Like Erector Sets??

Somehow I doubt you could ever achieve that end, old sport.

The "thing about communism" is getting a fucking gun shoved in your face and being told that you will live your life as a coal miner.. OR ELSE.

AND that's how that works..

Perhaps you meant "socialism"

Which, in the hands of radical leftists, will be misapplied till it is called a failed condition which Communism is brought about to remedy.
