Default There is a whiff of anarchy in the air this morning.
We celebrate homosexuality and then wonder why sexually transmitted diseases are exploding. According to the CDC, men-who-have-sex-with-men make up only two percent of the population but account for 53 percent of all new HIV infections and 64 percent of all new syphilis cases.
I'm beginning to acquire an appreciation for Paul's doctrine of Original Sin. The nation that began with freedom of religion has progressed to freedom from religion, freedom from moral constraint, and freedom from responsibility. Just as Plato described in the Republic, the "horses and asses" are "marching along with all the rights and dignities of freemen," and the ultimate result can be only that "tyranny will spring from democracy."

Religion and Morality are not synonymous, you can have one without the other.

Anyone's morality does, morality also says to not kill a cow, or a chicken, but we break morality so we can eat. This is just another break in morality just as the ones we legally commit daily. The question is do we want to live in a Country where we are forced to always make the moral choice, you must recognize that just because a choice is moral doesn't mean it is the right one.

Try strangling the life out of an animal, and try to feel good about that deep down inside. If you feel anything but sorrow, then you are sick, it is the opposite of morality.

I believe Plato was thinking about mud-races when he wrote of "horses and asses."

Morality isn't a book, it has a different definition from person to person, I consider that if I do something that makes me feel bad, it was probably immoral.

But my point is that we cannot base our policy off morality. Too often the gap between Moral and Practical is just too large.

[QUOTE=markendsley;31189]Morality isn't a book, it has a different definition from person to person,

Then, if morality isn't an absolute, how can you say that killing a cow, chicken, or a Jew "isn't moral?"

I consider that if I do something that makes me feel bad, it was probably immoral.

So, if it doesn't make a pathological murderer feel bad to kill, it's not immoral?

But my point is that we cannot base our policy off morality. Too often the gap between Moral and Practical is just too large.

Your reasoning is muddled.
