Location&Direction:This Divya Kshetram is located closer to Thiruchi.It is located 5 miles west of Thiruchi and 3 miles from Sri rangam and it is built in the banks of kollidam river.

As Brahma,Vishnu and Siva have sanctums inside this temple,it's called Thrimoorthi Sthalam.Legend says that as Lord shiva got Bitcha(alms) from Mahalakshmi in this sthalam and it filled the Bitcha vessel ,he is called Bitchadan.Hence the temple is also called Bitchandar Kovil.Lord Vishnu came in form of kathaba tree ,hence the name kathambanur,which became karambanur as time wen on. Thirumangaialwar and Andal worshipped he lord here as "Uthaman" hence the name "uthamar kovil" as well."Ongi ulagalandha uthaman perpaadi" --- a famous verse from Andal Thiruppavai..
