PR, " தொலைந்து போனவர்கள்" came as a weekly serial produced by Chola creations (ppl who made Thalai vaasal), directed by Selva. It was telecasted during the early 90's (or late 80's, not sure) in DD. It was a well made serial. Actor Rajesh played Damu character and "Thalaivasal" Vijai played as one of the friends. It was so engrossing that I used to be there punctually in front of my TV set every week.

I have not read the book though.
