But surely they understand that this will cripple the economies of the western industrialised world. They must be hyping it up or some thing. Has any one actually read the ETS legislation? I think it won't do much because the government will thankfully appease the Australian industries by keeping it nice and weak. Mind you.... I could be completely wrong and the Rudd government is hell bent on destroying the Australian economy. It wouldn't be the first time that a Labour government has passed legislation that has destroyed thousands of Australian jobs. Remember Whitlam's commitment to cut tariffs by 25%.
