It may cease to be a single entity. Much like Afghanistan, Iraq and Lebanon are not 'countries' in the western classical sense of it. They exist as confederacies of tribes and clans and sub-nations. In fact there really isn't a history of statehood in the Arab or SW Asian Muslim world. There is empire and there is the city-state. But not a nation. So by 2050 with Pakistan having possibly as many as 300 million souls, how is a single nation going to manage that? Simple, it can't. It may either be a state in name or it will break apart into warring factions and cultural demarcs like Yugoslavia or The Sudan.

Rest assured though it won't be the only one. Nigeria will probably break up once and for all. Likewise, Gaza and Palestine will eventually have to kill each other in the West Bank and split into two nations as well.
