This is the fundamental problem with domesticating/keeping animals for food. Most of the ills of civilization came from agriculture (inflammatory disease of every stripe nearly + immense weight gain), and disease, from swine and avian sources (not to mention mis folded proteins (BSE) in bovine products). Oh and the massive overuse of anti-biotics (and soon antivirals).
