I'm unworried about Democrat for the reason that a Democrat must react to a terrorist attack and show strength in order to win future elections.

Doing "something" is different from doing it well.

Obama IMO is worthless but if nominated will ensure McCain wins. Hillary would be looking to win the NEXT election and wouldn't want to be seen as weak. Precisely because she is not principled she would be more adjustable than Obama.

Of course, what we need for the long war are events that take away any choice but to fight. "Terror" is not the problem, it is a mechanism by which the undecided can be coerced to fight Islam, which is the problem.
