You mean the gap between our true allies in Israel, Australia, Japan, and to a lesser degree, Canada and Mexico will widen?
Australia to a better extend though it's a bit controversial, but you know the japanese population is strongly against invading.

As a matter of fact these two countries are entirely dependent on the US for their defense. So they have had to send troops but's it's both symbolic in number and controversial politically. Maybe the japanese will pay the US, though.



as for Canadian and mexicans ... it's "to a lesser degree" as you say. They were both strongly against the invasion ..


now don't get me wrong, I do not wish that the US is unilateral, agressive and isolated ... it just appears that's what Bush II policy is likely to be that way, because that's who he puts in charge. Powell was a man of honor while Condy is more like a tank than a diplomat.

and I'm not so sure she will be very patient with Israel either.
