Hi

Interesting topic, thanks.

The Satipatthana Sutta as quoted above:
  • stops the breathing exercise with 'bodily formations'
  • describes the non-body satipatthanas as a daily observation practise

In contrast, the Anapanasati Sutta as quoted above:
  • sets the direction of all four satipatthanas clearly
  • goes further to the end (relinquishment) without any detours.

Other views and corrections are welcome.
