When your school-going son asks you for some money because he wants to buy a rubber, nobody bats an eyelid. A rubber here means an eraser used for erasing pencil writing or pencil- sketches. But if you go to USA with your children, you better watch out. Especially if you have American friends around, because, they will go into a shock. Why? In America rubber connotes a condom.
