One of the things about dehydration is the body is pretty smart. It primarily takes water out of the tissues that need it less, like subcutaneous tissues which is why things like this work without causing kidney failure. This is why people frequently abuse diuretics to lose weight. Cutting water will allow you to look skinny as all get-out, but long term, or even short term, really, is not very healthy.

You cannot "turn fat into muscle." This is physiologically impossible. The basic building blocks of muscle are peptides; fat is made of lipids. These are two different chemical substances that cannot become the other.

Water intoxication is increasingly common with the water craze and the of tocyltic drugs in this country. It's all about balance. Arsenic is good for you, in trace amounts. You're right; no one needs to eat 5G of sodium; but there's no reason to think this weight loss is water. A lb. of fat consists of 3500kcal. She IS losing fat if she's burning calories.

Trust me - Nutrition was my area of interest in school.
