In my village, a lady whom was my senior friend got married to a guy from Norway and moved to Norway. One day, she came home and asked how I felt walking with a white man (my husband). Proud! I replied in a friendly manner. I asked why?.. She said, she felt funny when people looked at her with a white man. I asked why?... She said, because I think those people think that I'm from Pattaya. I said, so!??; accept it if you are and ignore it if you aren't (in again a friendly manner) I advised her to let them look and to let them think which I don't get upset by it because I believe they don't know your journey. They only see at that point when they see you. Besides, they might not think that way. She listened quietly. We carried on our conversations and so on. Before I left her place she was satisfied with me that helped clear her mind.

We continued to be friends but then after they built a house, a big house, villagers call their house ' Farang House '; she has changed. She became cold to me. I was very disappointed in her but then thought okay, she has shown her colour then I moved on.

Have any of you experienced some thing similar?
