To clarify... I don't think it's an either or. I don't think we have to choose between poverty and helping transgendered individuals. pencils for students and bathrooms for students. I think we can strive to have the best education for all students and work/fight for resources that everyone needs.

When we made sweeping changes to support our transgendered students on campus the financial impact was little to zero. It was just taking a look at space allocation and figureing out how we can do it better. ...and because we've made those changes, more Transgendered students may choose our university in the future. $$$
