Engine Antifreeze/Coolant is quite potent and a common thing people have been known to do when the owner and the law will not compromise. It is extremely potent. I have heard that only a single teaspoon will kill a cat within 24 hours. The most interesting thing about the method is that antifreeze has a density that is thicker and has a sweet taste to it, so once they lick it they like it, like a syrup.

I think basically is shuts down the liver, not sure how humane it is. I don't know if it is a painful thing. I only know what I have read about it on the public warnings that are state issued certain times of year.
