The roof peak points to sky like crane's neck are the symbolic of the temple just like the cross on top of the church. It is called CHOE-FAE

The front one on the peak is the largest and most beautiful one and the last one to be attached to the peak when the new temple is finished with ceremonial and blessed by the monks.
