Mr. AE was reading the Dominican papers today, and says there has been a lot of coverage about this, and articles about problems in Puerto Plata. Apparently some of the mudanza companies are squawking about opening their containers for inspection.

Now he read today that even though the import ban is only on the pacas [big bundles of used clothes] that several of the mudanza companies are striking and refusing to ship anything into the ports. They seem to think this will make the government change its position on the pacas.

This is bound to affect those of us who ship boxes and/or plastic drums/tanques to DR, at least in the near future.
