Interesting post Papa Bear. I can speak from two viewpoints. One from having hypnotized a couple of friends myself and two sessions where I paid a hypnotherapist (Head of a Past Life Regression group) to regress me. In both cases I was involved out of curiosity rather than any deep search for meaning in my life. But, I would say, definitely go pro if you are going to get hypnotized. Things can come up that an amateur like myself might not be expecting as did with one of my friends. One was no problem, he went back to the 1800s as a Gold Miner during the California Gold Rush. He led an uneventful life except with the death of his daughter and wife in that time period in a fire. That was traumatic for him and he expressed that loss with passion but I was able to get him through it without any problem. The second was when I was regressing a female friend of mine. She was going back in time in this life and I didn't specify to remember only good things. When she reached the age of 3, she became slightly hysterical as she explained how her uncle was sexually molesting her. She immediately woke up from the session, grabbed a cigarette and lit it up, and stared at me. I asked if she was alright to which she replied yes but you could see that was something she had hidden away in her mind and had now come out. Bottom line, go professional. From my own two sessions (expensive at $160 each), I learned I was an Indian Princess (sort of) in one life and my second one was fun to learn, an executioner in the reign of King Louis XIV in France. Can’t say either has had an impact on me because I was only curious so was not trying to associate a past life with my current one. However, I do wonder what karma I built up as I spent that lifetime executing people. There is some theory that people being age regressed to a past life are really just making up those lives. Makes me wonder why I couldn’t come up with something better than a person who lobbed off heads.
