MDNA sold 32,845 on its first day in the UK which is going to be enough to get it to No.1 - its nearest rival is currently on just under 7,000 at the same stage.

By comparison, Hard Candy also sold in the 33,000 region on its first day four years ago. Considering that had a big UK No.1 hit behind it ("4 Minutes") and this one has no big hit and only BBC Radio 2 support for "Masterpiece" (currently #24 on the UK airplay chart), I'd say MDNA is performing pretty well.
