The thing is, promotion is generally not for the artist's fans because all of them know everything already, it's for the general public who does not follow Madonna but might be tempted to buy her crap if she's on tv or if they happen to read an interesting interview with her while slurping down coffee and donuts. The facebook "event" and the twitter "experience" probably interested fans mostly and didn't go in depth into anything. I think maybe M also didn't want journalists to ask her constantly about her divorce, considering a lot of her songs are about that (although to me HC is just as much about the failed relationship...). She should have started by taking more time to finish this album. It was rushed in so quickly she couldn't even decide on an actual tracklist and decided to put all of it on there : let the fans decide. She could have set up a stronger 10 or 11 tracks record with a little more time and kept the rest for an upcoming EP of MDNA unreleased material or something. And clearly GMAYL was released as a commercial package for her SuperBowl Return to Showbiz, even after being leaked months before. She should have scrapped that, released I'm Addicted as first single with GMAYL as a b-side, free with purchase of IA and perform her crappy football ditty at the SuperCan but still have a decent, even amazing, song on the radio promoting her album. Oh well, rant over...
