Wearing a personalised shirt at an Olympics that seems to rub the loss in face of defeated opponents plays into the stereotype of ugly Americanism. If people who were rooting for the women's football team found them off-putting, imagine the reaction of the rest of world.

Personally, I couldn't agree more with this. I really wish the team would have said, "No thanks" to Nike after seeing the wording.
I actually found it disconcerting as well. I am not sure I have ever seen anything like it at an Olympic event.
