My grandmother pretty much had the same reaction.

I showed her a picture of Trooper smiling (he was lying down and I used my thumb and forefinger to part his lips) and she pulled a face, flinched and shook her head. Made some comments I'm sure...but then! She came and stayed with me for about a week, wouldn't you know it-Trooper slept with her every.single.night.

The other crazy reaction that always comes to mind for me was being in a pet store with our girl Bailey. We were walking by a set up for cat adoptions and Bailey was investigating. My husband and I were on one side of the table, and so was another lady who asked to pet Bailey. She then asked her sister/friend (who was standing on the other side of the table) if she wanted to pet Bailey.

And the lady said-not unless I have a .38 in my other hand.

I was flabbergasted!
