This is some really stupid advice. Her dog jumped off a roof so you tell her to put it on a long lead? Think about how dumb that is.

A long lead implies the owner is with the dog. Therefore if the dog starts to walk toward the edge of the roof, she pulls the dog back. Where exactly is this dumb advice??
