Your dog is there to make you happy. If you like letting the dog sleep with you I see no reason why it shouldn't.

I have 4 dogs. The 2 youngest are crated at night because they still chew and get into things. The 2 oldest sometimes sleep with my husband and I and sometimes we want to have some alone time and close the door. When our door is closed the dogs will either sleep with the kids or on some random piece of furniture.
