Hi Bev
I believe the powder form and tincture are fairly equal in potency. HOwever, the lady who grows the Ashitaba says that the grainy particles are the most important part of using Ashitaba.
I've used both and haven't noticed any less effect. I also tried the Ageless vitality drink (more expensive and includes Stevia as a natural sweetener) and it also appears to be of equal potency.
Ashitaba will NOT cause any diarrhea. If you suffer from heartburn or GERD after about a week of taking Ashitaba you will notice that the heartburn/pain will be reduced considerably if not gone completely. I was a regular Tums popper and had a bottle at my desk, on my nighstand and one on the end table in the living room. I haven't taken a Tums or a Prilosec in weeks.
Hope this helps
