i was under the impression anything below 100g of carbs a day was considered a low carb diet.

your brain does need glycogen to function. and if its not getting a little from carbs it has to get it from protein being converted. after 3 weeks or so some studies have said that 75% can be from ketones, but still 25% is from glycogen.

as you said carbs are not an essential nutrient, but can be a simple source of glycogen preventing some protein being converted.

i had thought about the withdrawal, but am i getting withdrawal from carbs? ive been dieting so long i cant have it from sugar etc. (i know sugar is a carb).
