definately will read it now!
atkins is not the diet i am following though. my diet is more 10% carbs (50g but generally end up at 30-40 most days), 200g+ protein and about 160g of fat.
i know the diet is working, i have lost 2kg i a week after previously only losing 0.5kg a week. i know some of its water. physically everyday my fat seem to be dissapearing. i am happy with it so far. but i am more interested in knowing about the ketosis and people experience is staying in it and how many carbs seem to throw them out of it.
ive read lots of websites about this diet and they all recomend 30-50g to stay in ketosis and only atkins says 20 and even thats not permanant. also i only plan on followng this particular diet for a total of a month, so around 3 more weeks, after which i am going to switch to a cylce ketongenic diet allowing carbs friday night to satuday night, and lots of them.
i assumed since this website was called lowcarb site it would cater for the various different version of the low carb diets and provide extra first hand experience of people problems and how they over came it.
also eating 200g of veggies even the right ones still have around 8-12g of carbs.
P.S most of my carbs do come from my veggies in the evening, or the 50g of mayo a day i have with my tuna. works out 3.5g of carbs in the mayo at 50g (low fat version).
my average days intake is as follows so far.
1 sausage, and 250g of scrambled egg for breakfast. (6g in sausage, 3-4g in the scrambled egg)
can of tuna, + 40-50g of mayo light (3.5g)
after gym, protein shake, (3.8g)
dinner, large amount of chicken, beef, fish etc, with veggies and some cheese. (usually ends up at 12-14g for veggies, 1-3g for meats)
sugar free jello pot
1 glass of sugar free soft drink, i.e pepsi max etc
snacks include boiled eggs little carbs, cheese and pate (2g per 100g), salmon pate and lettuce.
i am very aware about what goes into to my body, and i dont have more then 10-15g of carbs entering at a meal. its pretty spread across the day.
