Probably the most important thing to do is to keep with it. Starting with a plan like 15 min every day for a week then moving to 20 min etc. and building up is great. Once you reach 30 min. let's say, then adjusting your gait throughout the workout will pick it up a notch - kind of like walking on a flat path vs on a hill or down a hill.
Great work, keep it up. I just went and biked a mile or so. Now I bike everyday on a stationary bike, but it isnt' the same as outdoors. I have been intimidated in the past and have had this gorgeous mountain bike for like 8 or more years and have not used it! Why, because the hills around my house are too much for me. So, fiance and I packed the bikes in the SUV and went to a flat trail where there were inclines and the like but nothing like the hill by my house. Now I am gaining some confidence and I suspect it won't be long before I am conquering that hill.
I think you will be the same with the treadmill. Good for you and keep it up.
