I think "Sick of the Fat" has found a perfect solution. Find something that you like to do, that's fun and entertaining, and do it. I like walking in the mall, because it's straight and level and lots of people passing by qnd stores to dash though. Some people like that Pilates workout and some like running.
I do not believe that you need to do some really intense workout. If you can just get your activity level up every day, that might be enough for you. But your idea of being inactive just doesn't work. We humans are designed to be active and we need it. We cannot be healthy, and we cannot maintain our weight levels, without it. So get moving!
