I own a Wii but haven't bought the Wii Fit addition yet, primarily because it doesn't seem to offer me anything I think I'd use (not really into yoga) or am not already doing at the gym. Where I live the Wii Fit runs about $85 (you have to already have the Wii console, which is about $250). If the price comes down between now and Christmas I may break down and buy it anyway. If you don't have the benefit of a gym I do think this WOULD be a big plus for you.

On the flip side, though, the Wii console usually comes with Wii Sports, which includes bowling, tennis, baseball, boxing, etc. I routinely work up a sweat just playing those games! Seriously. You can do these games like my nephews do, from a couch (this younger generation!), or you can stand up and do the actual motions and get active with it. I used mine just this weekend, bowling and tennis primarily, and I was sweating when I was done. And it was a load of fun.

If you can afford the $$$ for the console I think it's a real plus.
