Default The golfing season is coming to an end.
Played nine holes Saturday and Sunday. Wasn't too cold, mid 50's both days, but the wind...damn. Gusts in the mid 30's and higher.

I was on pace both days to break 40, but holes 7 and 9 would have no part of it. Seven is a short par 3 over water. From where the markers were, I usually hit a pitching wedge (140 yds). With the wind, I went with an 8 both days...no way, it was like running into a wall.

At least I didn't go in the water, the wind moved the ball several yards right, so at least I didn't have to take a penalty stroke. Nine was directly into the wind, par 5 and i double bogied both days.

Why is it that if I play the ball factoring in the wind, the wind doesn't effect the ball flight at all, and I'm really off the fareway/green, but if i don't, the wind takes the ball and i end up with the same terrible results?
