I get in trouble inside 100 yards


It's funny you say this. Last year in discussion with a golfing buddy, I learned that 65% to 70% of all golf shots are within 100 yards of the cup. I suppose that's common knowledge, and I should have known that, but I did not.

Most people when they go the driving range hit their driver 70% of the time or more, when what they really should be working on is their irons.

The best thing I'd say if you're taking your divot before the ball is to move yourself about 1" forward in your stance, and continue to adjust until you're striking correctly. If you're not pushing or pulling the shot, it's likely that you're just not aligned front to back correctly.

At least that's what I'd guess off the top of my head.
