I'm not at the country club level yet, and I'm not sure I want to be. People spend a lot of money on golf. Probably too much. A couple of my friends pay thousands to play at private clubs, but they're located 15-20 miles out of town and don't end up playing 'em that much. One guy said he ended up paying over a hundred dollars a round one year because he only played a dozen or so rounds.

Now, that's just silly. I pay less than $600 a year for a season pass at a local muny and play whenever I want. You don't have anything like that where you play?

I know it's tough to justify big bucks for golf when you're young. After all, it's still a luxury, not a necessity.
I wish I could find something like that. Even upwards of 1000 I'd pay for a membership because i'd play every day after work. But every course out here you pay for individual round. Perhaps because they figure no one will use a membership when you can play so many courses and don't just wnat to stick to one. However, for the golf addict who wants value, this isn't up my alley.
