Magee gets spot in FBR Open, formerly Phoenix OpenSCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -- Andrew Magee received the first of five
sponsor's exemptions to the FBR Open on Tuesday.
"He is a true friend to this tournament and one of the (PGA)
Tour's great guys," chairman Mike Haenel said. "His philanthropic
work in the Valley is outstanding."
The former Phoenix Open, scheduled for Feb. 2-5, is one of the
tour's five oldest events. This year's competition will be its
71st.
Magee, a resident of nearby Paradise Valley, will be playing in
his 21st open.
