your ketones its a kind of sugar but more like the breakdown of it I guess is easiest to explain it anyway it goes wacky on that diet from on the protein just be careful
I know a LOT about this diet... I did it for years under the care of a nutritionist and personal trainer.

Like I said before, the only potential problem is if you DON'T accurately follow the diet. The entire goal of the diet is to push your body into a state of Ketosis, where you are burning only fat as the primary fuel. If you cheat and continue to mix carbs into your "fuel" the excess fats will have nowhere to go but your bloodstream.
