I read this book last week and it was the best $10 I have spent. She not only explains the physical reasons why the hcg diet works, but goes in-depth about the emotional and mental issues that you MUST face while losing weight. That information applies to every diet and lifestyle.

I am still waiting on my hcg to arrive, but I started implementing the other principles immediately. I have learned a lot about myself, my body, and my eating habits in the past week. Funny enough, I have also lost a couple of pounds just being mindful and following the hunger scale. Reading this book is a great way to prepare to start the protocol!

The other thing that I LOVED about the book was the discussion on living by the scale. I hate how people are so obsessed with weighing every day and basically use the scale as a "reward" for not cheating. I have a close family member with a serious eating disorder, and some of the behaviors often promoted by dieters are creating wrong mental thoughts about food and your body. It is SO SO important to get to a place where you understand that your weight and appearance do not make you a better or worse person. Losing a pound does not make you a success, and gaining a pound does not make you a failure. It is very difficult to achieve any of your goals when you are caught in the guilt cycle.
