This isn't a "diet" that you can adapt or change to your own preferences. You REALLY need to read "Pounds & Inches".

Don't focus on how deprived you think you will be. When you are not hungry, the structure of the protocol makes it easier. The ultra restrictive part is for a limited time, not forever.
