We've seen people gain muscle on the protocol, bicster. You need to Read Pounds and Inches. She isn't only living on 500 calories when the hcg is working properly.
what is being noticed is a loss of fat, making underlying muscles appear larger/better defined. increases on the scale are most likely due to associated fluid retention from weight lifting.

the only way to build muscle is to be in an anabolic state. 500kcal with or without hcg does not get you there.
