Jayy - Yeah I gained 30 pounds while on Paxil & just continued to gain while on Effexor. I SO wish I was in a better place at that time to have made a clearer decision about being on these particular anti-depressants. In talking to my doctor recently about the PMDD... apparently Paxil & Effexor are the "big guns" of the anti-depressant world! I know I was in a BAD BAD place dealing with having been wrongly accused in my job & everything else horrible you could imagine. This unfortunately lasted about 5 years with the first 3 being the worst. I am better off now since everything is over but trying to loose the weight I gained is almost impossible! One little mess up & things just creep back up!
The way I look at it is, it kept me alive, basically. Things were that bad for me, that I was actually just trying to keep going. Eat, sleep, breathe, was all I did for 18 months. So, I can't regret it. I eventually got out of that awful place (and am thankful every day for that), but this is my reminder that I was there! I too wish I could've had another option or made a better decision, but I'm not sure there was one.

Ah well, the past is the past. Can only move onwards and upwards, and lose this dreaded weight, ditch anti-depressants for life, and be the happy healthy people we're supposed to be
