Craezie, I believe it is only this diet, not other diets. This plan is very, very strange and oh so sensitive, probably because it isn't a diet, it is a hormone protocol. If you're thinking of it as a diet, you're going to be confused. We do know that Dr. Simeons did a lot of research. We also know he didn't share it with us. He wrote P&I so people would stop bugging him about this plan, but he didn't share every detail of his work with us. And those of us who have done the protocol have learned that he was right about everything, even the things that make no sense.
You can add oils back in P3. In fact, you want to eat lots of fat in P3. That's another thing that makes no sense...if you eat too little in P3, you'll gain weight. If you eat a lot, you won't.
And of course everyone knows that petrochemical oils are not good for you. But that is why they are less harmful to your weight loss on this protocol. They aren't anything your body recognizes. But some people are just completely unwilling to give up their oils and lotions, so if they want to choose one, those are less harmful to the weight loss and stabilization process. Ideally, people would just suffer for a month and avoid the lotions.
